A few months back we spent a Wednesday talking about GIFs and how directographer Ryan Enn Hughes has been utilizing the medium. His first effort – Sparkler$ – was met with great reception, and now Ryan is back with new series of moving pictures for ya’ll to enjoy. Here’s Mr. Hughes to tell you all about it.
For the last few weeks I’ve been experimenting with creating animated GIFs of Ballerinas from Canada’s National Ballet School. I have a background in painting, and of late have been interested in exploring avenues that allow me to incorporate aspects of painting into photography and motion picture work. By manipulating photographs that were initially captured for The 360 Project, it was my aim to create a type of ‘moving painting’, in an Impressionist style.
